Devices
Paired phones, reconnecting, and forgetting a phone.
The Devices page lists the phones paired with this PC, and is where new ones pair.
Paired phones
A paired phone keeps a key for this PC and presents it when it connects. The PC keeps only a fingerprint (a SHA-256) of each key, so the key itself never sits on the PC. It remembers up to 16 phones, and forgets the one it saw longest ago when a seventeenth pairs.
Phones that are away stay on the list, ready to reconnect.
Disconnect or forget
- Disconnect closes the connection now. The phone stays paired and can reconnect.
- Forget revokes the phone's key. To use it again, pair it again.
- New code replaces the six-digit code. It doesn't disconnect anyone.
Reconnecting
When the phone comes back to the foreground or back online, it reconnects at once. While connected, it keeps its screen on.
